I think the most exciting thing is that the Maniscalco Gallery is bridging the gap between the tremendous local talent and a community hungry for original, accessible, evocative contemporary art that feeds the soul.

The Maniscalco Gallery itself has almost doubled it's exhibition area, unveiled the "secret" sculpture garden and established itself as the area's premier contemporary art center. The MG is aiming to provide a much needed cultural oasis, bringing together Detroit's east side and the Grosse Pointes.

The SG is also providing meaningful training in drawing and painting, offering a wide range of classes. In fact, we are expanding the fall class schedule to include more teaching-artists, such as Paula Luke. See Power of Positive Painting© Video for the current schedule.

Plans are now underway to begin educational outreach programs to area schools and community organizations. If you know of a group who might enjoy a trip to the gallery, an art lesson, a demo, please let us know.The MG's goal is to provide a center for arts and art related activities and services. The MG makes it a pleasure to take in an awesome exhibit, learn to paint with confidence, provide unique archival framing — with the help of our artist-framers, restore that family heirloom or just hang out with kindred art spirits.
