LOVE is an exhibition celebrating the July wedding of Robert Maniscalco & Amanda Poland. Each artist was asked to respond to the theme in his/her own way. Amanda is delighted. “What better way to celebrate our feelings for each other than with an exhibition of great work by some of our favorite artists?” Says Robert, “I never expected to fall in love with my work but Amanda was impossible to resist!”

This exhibit is an exploration, graphically and without apology, of the many shades and subtleties of the elusive master stroke of creativity we call love. Enjoy!

Yes, after 41 years of single bliss, Robert Maniscalco is taking a young bride (335 months to be exact). Uncertain whether to marry her or adopt her, tossing a coin made the decision easier. Rob "The Cradle" Maniscalco and his lovely fiancé will be married in late July. The couple intends to travel in Italy for a couple weeks immediately following their private ceremony. Amanda is quoted as saying "I never thought I'd be married to my work." Any ordinary couple would have been done for after two years of this but Robert and Amanda have survived and thrived for three and a half years - and counting! They have formed a solid partnership as Detroit's only Mom & Pops art gallery. "What better way to celebrate our wedding than with an exhibition of incredible art by local masters," says Robert.

Amanda Poland, daughter of Ronald Poland of Albuquerque and Marilyn Laken of Charleston, was born & raised right here in Detroit. She went to Grosse Pointe South High School and then earned a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. She has been Robert's business partner at the Maniscalco Gallery for the past three years. She is the framing guru, budding artist and manages the business. The marriage constitutes both a merger and acquisition.

The Maniscalco Gallery, it's art to believe!
