Last week I did an artist-in-residence at the Anndell Inn, in Freshfields on Kiawah Island, as part of the Charleston Summer Classic Equestrian Festival. The residency was sponsored by the Mary Martin Gallery, who has a magnificent satellite gallery at Anndell Inn.

It was a lot of fun for me to paint, while answering questions about my working process.

I have done numerous equestrian paintings in the past, but the three paintings I accomplished I think are wonderful personality studies of these magnificent animals.

It was a pleasure to take the Equestrian Challenge.  I’d like to do more equestrian portraiture in the future.  Any suggestions are appreciated.
