In the countryside outside Blois, France, there was some marvelous activity around this bridge, my vantage point. Either the cows were grazing, reflecting in the pond or a duck was swimming by. One time, two men were wading with big black buckets. When I came across these men, collecting, harvesting something from the water. I called out, "what are you doing?" But of course, they didn't understand. Still, I thought the whole scene was so idyllic and pastoral, so compelling, it seemed to capture man at his best, at one with nature.
