The portrait features Mr. Zucker in dynamic repose, expressing his energy and vitality. The light streams in from a window behind. In the bookcases to his right are binders, containing his over 300 international patents. The desk is clear, save a notebook computer, representing his connection with his many international interests through advanced communications technology.
When I met with Jerry to work on the portrait he was in the late stages of brain cancer. It was a very moving, humbling experience that taught me once again about the importance and significance of my work as a portrait painter in creating the image that will be remembered by countless generations to come.
The portrait is now part of a 400 year old collection of portraits at the Hudson’s Bay Company.
