Emerald Siren

Emerald Siren 42x 34″ oil on linen, framed by the artist.

What does the siren see? What is she thinking? Who is her beauty capturing? What vessel will now go unmanned? Am I more in love with her reflection and her shadow in the sand, than I am with she, the Medusa, who can see what we dare not see? Her shadow and reflection have become a life all of their own. The Siren, the Medusa, both filled with guile and self-absorbed, in this strange exotic place. She sees only my desire, ambition, gall, and sin. She sees my guilt and folly and forgives them all and absolves me for ever having had such thoughts.

Emerald Siren Framed. And, what sometimes gets lost in the full photo of my paintings, is the variation of color in "dull" places like the trunk of the tree. I have vibrated every color in the rainbow together to create the illusion of grey and to unify and elevate the Emerald theme chromatically. But at the end of the day, it captures a moment in a beautiful young lady's amazing life.
