Equestrian Head Study 7.5″ x 9.5″ oil on board, framed by the artist (fancy antique frame, pictured)

This was a head study for a larger work, “Alex with Horse on the Beach.”  In this, I wanted to push the color and form, to get a more sculptural, almost metallic result, which I like very much. I also like it in the frame, giving it a relic-like feel. The whole package has a poetry and dynamism that creates a powerful feeling and impact.
