King Street Sunset was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. I wanted to capture the sun streaming down historic King Street. I love that moment when the last light is captured by objects like cars, as if the sun is grasping for any chance to stay aloft. And the early evening lights compete for attention. The rest is a delicious romp of color and the thrill of pushing paint.
