Charleston Artist Guild Fall Signature Show 2025

This Old Guy modeled for a New Orleans Power of Positive Portrait Painting workshop, back in the early 1990s. And I always wanted to paint him. So here he is. I snapped a photo and always meant to get around to him. There were 20 participants in the workshop, so I didn’t have a chance to demo.

I must say, I added a lot to the terrible photo I took, thirty years later. I enjoyed creating the sparkle of broken color in his flesh. Of course, this Old Guy is long gone, but his portrait will live on forever.
