We don't have poverty and hunger and war because that's just the way it is. We have those things because we don't have the will or the vision to change. And that is the tragedy of the human race and why we are heading towards extinction. Not just the poor people, mind you, but all of humanity, even the Musks and the Pauls and the Trumps of the world, who think they have all the answers. There is no such thing as survival of the fittest when it comes to global extinction, which are our just desserts.

A wonderful evening of mad quick sketching, four hours without a break, because people couldn't get enough at the annual party of Johnson & Johnson. Here are a couple of the many portrait sketches from last night. Some were funny. Some were poignant. I wish I'd taken more pics.

Trump is the epitome of white privilege. He feels

Trump is the epitome of white privilege. He feels entitled to grab pussy, stiff his vendors, lie, insult, attack, bully, blame and punish others, con, and essentially do whatever he wants to get what he feels he deserves. If you agree that you and he are entitled to the American Dream, while others must wait their turn like everybody else, you are a likely Trump voter.

If you feel everyone who works hard is entitled to a living wage, that equality, freedom and justice aren't just nice sounding words, but values worth achieving, then you are likely a Harris voter.

I consider myself a true voice for moderation. I've been called a Commie, a Marxist and a Libtard, simply because I'm not a MAGA. None of these monikers are accurate. They don't make any sense. I noticed an uptick of memes forecasting dire consequences if Harris is elected. These coincide with Trump's increasingly dire warnings at his rallies, threatening WWIII or worse if Harris is elected. Don't buy into it.

Getting his followers to swallow lies like election fraud or Haitians eating dogs have cleared the way for him to claim ever more ridiculous and outrageous lies and predictions without any fallout or repercussion. No one can predict the future but let me assure you Harris is ready for anything. He's even afraid to debate her. Don't let him catastrophize you into supporting his failed policies. He is saying anything at this point, because he is desperate. He's a proven liar. Not a statesman. Please don't buy into his ignorant blather.

Many people conflate my Christian values with being a Marxist. Please don't. I live my life according to the teachings of Jesus. Welcome the stranger, love the least of these. Christians have no business getting involved with governing (see below) Christian values might should inform our leaders by creating an equal playing field, for instance. But CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A FORM OF GOVERNMENT. Democracy is a form of government. We are a republic with a democratic form of government.

Capitalism is an economic system. So is Socialism. Our current economic system is a hybrid of capitalism (free market, corporate ownership, private ownership, stock market, supply and demand, etc.) and socialism (pubic education, interstate highways, police, fire, social security, unions, etc.). Our current healthcare is a hybrid of capitalism and socialism as are many of our institutions. We use socialism when it benefits the common good. We use capitalism to benefit and grow our personal or corporate wealth. None of these ideas should be distilled into simple bad or good. These forces interact in complex and nuanced ways.

America isn't perfect. There is plenty of room for improvement. One candidate wants to throw the baby out with the bath water, burn it all to the ground and start again. The other wants to make the current system more fair, equitable and effective at delivering the American dream to all of its citizens.

It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.
