Michigan Glads
$95.00 – $795.00
Michigan Glads, 12×16″ oil on panel, framed by the artist
It is Michigan Glad season in Charleston. And yes, we call them that, here. Michigan Glads, Gladiola, are an opulent affair. In bunches they have a powerful impact. I enjoyed studying them in all their glory. There are a million hidden secrets in a Gladiola, so intricate in detail and filled with a longing to reproduce. I found this painting particularly difficult to photograph. It is very contrasty and very red. It is more pink, I swear; I don’t know how to fix this. This poor stalk was minding its own business in my yard until I harvested it as our centerpiece for our dining room table. Be inspired by nature every day.
