Robert created the concept of Artists Among Us when he was President of the Wayne County Council of Arts, History and Humanities in the early 2000s. AAU was an extraordinary ARTnership between visual, literary and musical artists.

The goal of AAU is to generate new works through multi-disciplinary collaborations. During a period of several months, an arts incubator is set up with a group of poets, musicians and fine artists, selected by a jury of experts in each of the respective disciplines. Below is a call for entry for the program from 2004.

Finally, these award-winning collaborations are performed in a glorious evening of inspiration, among the visual works of art that inspired them, which are placed in a spot-light on the stage among the performers. Numerous fascinating collaborations have come out of this program.

Now, Robert is about to release his new book, “Ekphrastic and Other Poems with Images” which combines all three, original music/verse/image, especially in the ebook.
