Look dad, I did it!

As my very first friend once told me, “Rob, there are two kinds of people: boaters and golfers.”   Well here are a couple golfers.  This was a particularly meaningful portrait for me, as it expresses a father’s love for his son.  I enjoy a bit of story when it comes to a portrait.  This one captures that wonderful moment when a father realizes his child is becoming his own person.  In a flash, he can see him all grown up and he looks with awe and appreciation for the incredible human being he has been charged with loving unconditionally.  Every little thing they accomplish together brings them closer.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of helping my daughter get up and ride her two wheeler.  There is nothing like letting go and watching a child ride off on her own.

So here is a tribute to the many moments we as parents celebrate with our children, the little milestones that bring us closer to ourselves and to one another.
