Last night at the Grand Opening Gala of the Schaap center for the arts in Grosse Pointe, I was extremely proud and humbled to unveil my portrait of Carol and Paul Schaap. Thanks to Theresa Curis Selvaggio for the lovely introduction and helping to make the portrait a reality. I don’t have vid on hers or my words yet.
It was an historic moment for Grosse Pointe and Detroit. And, a special note of how so very excited I am that my Grosse Pointe Theatre family finally has their forever home at the Schaap Center. Gotta say, this place makes me a little homesick. It is truly remarkable what Paul has accomplished with this facility. Take a look at the earlier, but more current depiction in the portrait of Paul and Carol I painted for the WSU Chemistry Department.
