Expecting the Miracle 30×24 oil on panel

Expecting the Miracle captures the moment of ecstasy, when a child realizes he is part of something larger, something magnificent. He experiences himself as the central character AND realizes he is but a small, almost insignificant part of the large pageantry of life. My son, Danny, was the model for this little boy. Danny once wrote, “I love everything and everybody.” I think this painting captures the essence of those words. I have recently modified/changed the painting, as I sometimes do, years after the fact.
