Of course, Nonno is Italian for Grandpa. This man feels like someone’s grandpa. Loving and stern. He is the epitome of Old school. I got into it pretty good, painting along with my new student. Hers came out pretty well too. It is more finished than some of my other work. Nonno called out to be more detailed and hyper real than other subjects. I wanted to capture the cray paper skin and the wrinkles that come with a simple wisdom.
