Peninsula 32″ x 48″ oil on linen canvas, framed by the artist

Peninsula was the result of a kayak excursion on the Ashley River, less than a mile from my home. The marsh is so calm and peaceful. We live near the source of the Ashley, right across from Middleton Plantation, so the river is pretty narrow and very pristine. I turned it into a peninsula because I enjoyed how the value of the water was the same as the air at the horizon; I didn’t want anything to interrupt that rare occurrence.
