Dr. Barbara Tilley Returns to the Department she chaired for ten years at MUSC,  now the Department of Public Health Sciences.

I am very grateful that Barbara had faith in my work nine years ago when she became the first to commission me to create portraits at MUSC, those of her two predecessors, Drs. Hoel and Miller.   I have since created 14 portraits at MUSC in a number of Departments.

I wanted to capture her warm and radiant smile.  She’s one of those rare people who’s eyes seem to glow with kindness.

It was really cool that my kids got to come to the vernissage, which was attended by a lot of of VIPs, including the interim presdent of MUSC, Mark S. Sothmann.  The portrait was well received . . . and the venerable portrait tradition at MUSC continues.  Thanks Barbara!
