Dorothy Lee Barnett Arraignment Aside from the historical significance of this notorious, unsolved mystery finally being resolved, another piece of Charleston history was made on Monday, September 29, 2014. So far as I know, I was the first court sketch artist to...

We Place so much stock in our identities. Here are just a few of the millions of examples: "I am an artist," "I am a loving person," "I am a Christian," "I am an American," "I am gay," "I am a supporter of the sanctity of marriage," "I am a bad-ass." In...

In response to my recent posting on FB of this Stella Adler quote and describing those who don't have something to contribute as fillers, a very wise, dear friend responded privately: "''Fillers?' Not true, helpful, inspiring, necessary, or kind. It takes courage to...

Maya and the Surviving Spirit

by netGALAXY Studios | May 29, 2014 | Art Instruction, Fine Art, Motivational, Theatre Related, Uncategorized, World View | 0 Comments

Cate and Friends This portrait of my darling Cate depicts a world where all is well and all is one. Aside from completely repainting the face from the previous version, I have added 14 creatures to the painting, not including the Holy Spirit, seen in the upper right....

Our Culture of Exceptionalism

by netGALAXY Studios | Apr 4, 2014 | Art Instruction, Fine Art, Motivational, Theatre Related, World View | 2 Comments

I often wonder why I speak out, why I paint, why I write, sometimes, why I even bother waking up in the morning. It seems at times that nobody cares. I realize my blogs often disappear into the ether, sometimes completely unread, that what I'm burning to say means...

Right vs Left Brain Are One Brain

by netGALAXY Studios | Mar 6, 2014 | Art Instruction, Fine Art, Motivational, Portraiture, Theatre Related, World View | 1 Comment

Who really knows their Right from their Left? The traditional Right vs Left brain conversation is not giving us the complete picture. New findings suggest that people are not necessarily more functional on one hemisphere of their brain over the other. I have done...
