Botanical 1-4 began as watercolor demos for botanical studies, presented at Summerville Elementary first graders. When I got them home I started fooling around with them and returned to a technique I enjoyed when I was young of outlining and defining the strange shapes that come out of spontaneous watercolors, which allows me to define certain shapes, while minimizing others, drawing certain elements into greater focus.
