Equisite 30 x 38″ oil on linen, framed by the artist

Equisite is a departure for me, as I take time to reimagine my work. I’m going for something a bit softer, more painterly. Lot’s of palette knife. Also, I’m working with a limited palette – only four colors used. There is something in the poetic dance between a woman and a horse. She seems to woo him into calmness. The space between forms is filled with energy. There is uncertainty in the air, along with a calm certainty. The painting is a mass of contradictions. Equisite, a made up word, is an invitation into a world where anything might happen.
