Mysterious Light

Mysterious Light is a study of light from a variety of sources and the glow of objects in light. It is also a medication on the passage of time and thought and the meaning of being. There are a variety of substances, each responding to the various lights differently. I enjoyed the challenge of captured light in the candle wax. A Still life is interesting because of what goes in and what goes out. The combination of items included can make us think. Sometimes it makes us feel. The rest is a delicious romp of color and the thrill of pushing paint.

This painting is particularly special as it is our dinner table. Every night Mary does the honors of creating what we now simply call "Ambience."  We always have flowers and candles at dinner in our home. Because a little romance never hurt anyone. I hope it provides stability and a fond memory as they move into adulthood.
