The doll is treated like any other object in size and scope. The Gerber daisy is really more of a focal point, while the peach is cast off to the side, but in the strongest part of the composition, as our eyes move left to right. But the doll sits under a vase of dried weeds, beautifully frozen. Again, a Pewabic vase makes its appearance. I enjoyed the way I created the translucency, a hallmark of Pewabic Pottery, with a few swishes of the paint, a quick technique that has taken many years to perfect. The combination of items included can make us think. Sometimes it makes us feel. The rest is a delicious romp of color and the thrill of pushing paint.
