Magnolia Bog, 9″ x 12″, pastel on paper, framed by the artist

Magnolia Bog is the result of a recent visit to Magnolia Gardens in Charleston, a favorite of artists for many years. We are walking along a path between marsh and swamp. I use the term Bog looely. I’m pretty sure this is a marsh. But I’ve already used that title! I enjoyed the deep, dense darkness of the bogs and the magnificent Cypress Tree, like rockets ready for take off.  I love the pure color potentiality of unblended pastels.
